Text description provided by the architects. The Harrington Grove Country Club is a casual yet elegant signature building that embraces its rural setting. The Country Club offers leisure and sporting facilities on a grand scale as well as providing areas for casual dining, functions, relaxation, and community interaction.
The club house building takes full advantage of its lush green setting. Expansive glass walls open onto large cantilevered balconies to ensure uninterrupted views across the woodland and grassy hills beyond. Landscaped lawn terraces wrap around the building and clever changes in level provide a variety of multi-use spaces, including an amphitheatre, for entertainment or function purposes.
Sustainability was integral to the design. The narrow floorplate of the clubhouse allows fresh air and daylight to penetrate all principal rooms. The building management system is connected to the lights and the mechanical ventilation, activating the adjustable sun shading and closing off air conditioning units as required. It also manages rainwater collection which is used for irrigation of the landscape.
